A few weeks ago WeldCor Supplies Inc read an article about a teacher at a Northern Canadian community school doing crowdfunding to raise enough money for their students to build a greenhouse so that they could grow food locally and not have to rely solely on "imported" fresh vegetables. A noble cause in a very harsh environment.

When WeldCor staff read this, it was determined that this would be a great cause to support. Rather than giving to the crowdfunding, WeldCor bought 2 greenhouses and donated them to these industrious students, so that the money raised through crowdfunding could then be used build a heating system and other ancillary items.

As a small company, WeldCor would like to challenge other small companies to look to their communities to see how they can help on a local/municipal level.

Leroy Billesberger, president of WeldCor supplies:

“Who knows... maybe one of these students will become the next northern climate horticultural Einstein"...

WeldCor Supplies Inc. was excited to have been a part of The Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum North Central BC Branch's 2014 Annual General Meeting.  In addition to attending the meetings, Leroy Billesberger, President of WeldCor Supplies, had the honour of discussing his presentation of "MIG Carbide Hardfacing - The Best Bang for Your Buck" with the attendees.

After the hard work was complete, Leroy and Trevor Lovelace (General Manager, WeldCor Supplies BC) were able to head out and represent WeldCor on the golf course.  WeldCor was a proud hole sponsor, and a force to be reckoned with on the course (depending on who you asked)!

All said, WeldCor is off to an industrious summer and hopes to be in contact with you soon!

Late last fall, Leroy Billesberger and Trevor Lovelace were able to make the trip to Essen, Germany to participate in the Schweissen & Schneiden Essen Welding Show.  With over 1000 exhibitors, representing more than 42 countries the show attracted over 60,000 visitors.  These visitors were able to view products and innovations related to joining, cutting and coating technologies.

Leroy and Trevor were able to take in the sights and sounds of this uniting of nations, and also stopped to chat with old friends at the Kuang Tai booth and Postle Industries booth.

After a couple of days of exploring the Schweissen & Schneiden Tradeshow, Trevor and Leroy were able to stop by Böhler Welding's facility for a tour.

With days of hard work behind them, Leroy and Trevor were able to fit in some site-seeing and headed off to Berlin.  They spent two days in Germany's capitol city, touring the Reichstag (the seat of German parliment), the Berlin wall, Jewish quarters up to and during WWII and many other great historical sites.
